How it works:
With the queen inside, she can lay eggs on only that one frame but cannot escape.
With the queen outside, she is prevented from laying on the isolated frame.
In both cases, workers move freely through the bars, maintaining colony cohesion and brood care.

Stabilizing new swarms or packages by containing the queen to prevent absconding.
Producing a broodless colony for mite treatments by restricting the queen to one removable frame.

Important notes:
Insert and remove the frame gently and slowly when the queen is present to avoid injuring her.
The cage requires the space of two standard frames. One deep frame is placed inside, and the solid cover rests on the frame's top bar.
Ensure the top edges are flush with your hive body. If dimensions differ, seal gaps with beeswax beside the top bar to prevent the queen from escaping.
